THE MONTHLY CUCKOO RESTAURANT SINGLES NIGHTS

Thank you for your outstanding attendance at the July Cuckoo night.  It was encouraging to see so many folk there.   It has been decided to continue these evenings due to the great support, but to reduce the frequency.  So the next Singles Night at the Cuckoo will be held in November 2008 and then in 2009 it will be held every 3 months. I'll keep you informed.

We are presently experiencing some technical problems with our website which limit the information that can be accessed (eg our current newsletter and other groups).  We apologise for this and hope to have it fixed soon.  For any queries please contact Steve Mitchell on 03 9407 1240.

About Club Solo

Club Solo is a national ministry of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Australia serving Christian single adults of all ages and denominations.  Our purpose is to meet the social, spiritual, and recreational needs of singles who are divorced, widowed or have never been married.  This is achieved through our holiday and social events program.  Solo is not an introductory agency!  It is a ministry to Christian singles.

We have a calendar of monthly events based mainly in and around Melbourne, but in addition to this we have other social groups meeting in Geelong (Vic), Adelaide (SA), Sydney, Lismore/Casino (NSW), and the new one's in the Ipswich, South East QLD region and in The Barossa (SA).  And in January each year, we have the opportunity of all coming together for a 7 day holiday on Queensland's Gold Coast.

We also hold interstate and overseas tours from time to time.  Since it's inception, Solo has organised camps in Queensland, Victoria, and New South Wales; tours to the Outback of Australia; and the United States of America; cruises to the South Pacific and numerous social events.

Over the past 25 years, thousands of Christian singles have enjoyed fun and fellowship with Solo.  Now you can be a part of that experience yourself.

Club Solo's Leadership

Club Solo was originally formed in 1982 by Rev Bill and Daphne Foster who recognised a need for singles to be able to get together.

Rev Steve Mitchell (shown above with his wife, Michelle) became Director of Club Solo in 1997 after serving on the Executive Committee for a number of years.  Steve is a graduate of Kingsley Bible College and has a real pastor's heart for singles.  The Wesleyan Methodist Church has appointed Steve as a chaplain to Christian singles, through the vehicle of Club Solo.

Steve & Michelle have two children, Daniel who is 4 yeras old and Sarah, who was born in June 2008.

Club Solo has a team of dedicated staff supporting this ministry, including ministers, counsellors, and other professionals.  They predominantly work on a volunteer basis and come from a variety of denominational backgrounds including Wesleyan Methodist, Church of Christ, Uniting, Baptist, and Assemblies of God.  They all share a heart for singles.
